YEAR 7 & 8 COORDINATOR’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Students,

As we enter the final term of this challenging year, I am overjoyed to see our students returning to school. Finally, after spending so much time apart, our boys are able to reunite with their friends and teachers and enjoy a sense of normality. It was a pleasure to greet our returning students on their first day back and to see their enthusiasm, brought on by this positive change. Whilst our students are generally a positive and energetic bunch, I have never seen a group of students this happy to be back at school! So far, I have been impressed with our students for their excellent conduct as they readjust to the rules and routines of school life. Just as the resilience they showed during remote learning was exemplary, so too is their renewed commitment to upholding the school’s core values and displaying outstanding behaviour upon their return to campus. I am looking forward to a productive, safe and enjoyable term ahead.

YEAR 11 & 12 COORDINATOR’S MESSAGE

Dear Friends,

It has been a wonderful term so far, with everyone back at school.

Thank you to parents and guardians who have purchased the 2021 ‘varsity’ jacket. It was great seeing the boys fastidiously trying on a number of sizes in order to make sure they were ordering exactly the right one. Many of them even returned on several occasions to make sure they had not ‘made a mistake’. It was certainly pleasing to see them all looking forward to next year, knowing they would finally be able to proudly don their Class of 2021 jackets. These should be ready in time for the start of the new school year.

With one cohort eagerly looking forward to beginning their final year of school, another group of boys has closed the final chapter on its own school years. Despite classes being over, many of these boys have still been coming to school each day to make the most of their study time, to complete numerous practice exams and obtain valuable feedback from their teachers. The exams have now begun, so we wish our boys all the best.

During the Year 12s’ last week of school, their last week of regular timetabled classes, the boys were each acknowledged by their individual subject teachers with words and gifts of appreciation. One particularly rewarding moment for me was finally being able to return to at least half of the boys, the letter I had asked them to write back in April 2015, when they were still beginning secondary school. It was a letter to their future eighteen-year-old selves. They had waited more than five years to read them again, and to rediscover what they had actually written to themselves; it would have been quite an emotionally intriguing read, and perhaps, a little inspirational too.

To every graduating boy I say, incredibly well done! I am grateful for having witnessed part of your journey.

Stay safe and healthy!

Yours sincerely,
Mr Adrian Verga,
Years 11 and 12 Level Coordinator
